Family-Oriented Recreation
If you love wide open spaces you will love Wyoming!
Big Horn County offers two major water playgrounds: Big Horn River and Big Horn Lake. If boating and floating aren't your thing you can still enjoy wading, splashing and fishing in the numerous creeks that meander through the county, including cold mountain streams. Reservoirs are also a popular hangout. Can you say "Ice fishing"?

Forget the CITY NIGHT LIFE and discover the COUNTRY WILD LIFE! Wyoming has wildlife habitat! You will be amazed by the animals you may see from your yard or just driving down the road. Deer, rabbit, pheasants, turkeys, duck, fox, coyotes, and antelope are common in the low land.  In the Big Horn Mountains you will find elk, moose, bighorn sheep and bear. All this wildlife make Wyoming a favorite for hunters.

You can read ancient petroglyphs, track a dinosaur or see wild mustangs in Big Horn County and both Cowley and Greybull have museums. Other historical information may be obtained at the Wyoming State Historical Society.

Swimming, biking, tennis, baseball, softball, & volleyball are available on your own or through the town's recreation departments. Several towns have walk/bike baths. Winter recreation includes downhill and cross country skiing. Ice skating, sledding and snowmobiling rounds out the list.

The county boasts an old fashioned county fair as well as many 4-H and FFA clubs.

Shopping
Culture shock for teenagers - we have no malls, no K-mart, Wal-Mart or other big box stores! Instead, we have lots of friendly little stores that sell almost everything at competitive prices.
